Common Problems And Solutions in Laser Cutting

image

Question 1: The slag hangs on the corner of the stainless steel.

Solution:Round the corners, lower the focus, and increase the pressure.

Question 2: The whole stainless steel is hung with hard slag.

Solution:Reduce the focus, increase the air pressure, and increase the cutting nozzle; the focus should not be too low, and the air pressure should not be too high, otherwise it will lead to delamination of the section and rough surface.

Question 3: The whole cut stainless steel is hung with granular soft slag.

Solution:Increase cutting speed, decrease power.

Question 4: Slag on the section at the end of cutting.

Solution:Check the air supply for insufficient supply or insufficient flow.

Question 5: The cross-section lines are very large and twill.

Solution: reduce the power, reduce the speed, move the focus position down, and reduce the air pressure.

Question 6: The oxygen-cut carbon steel bottom pull line is greatly offset, and the bottom cut is wide.

Solution: decrease the feed rate, increase the power, increase the air pressure, decrease the focus.

Question 7: Oxygen cut carbon steel only has burrs on one side.

Solution: Center the nozzle, or change the nozzle.

The above is for reference only, the cutting problem may be caused by a certain reason, or it may be a combination of multiple factors. Specific analysis of specific issues, it is absolutely impossible to generalize!

Laser cutting machines will inevitably encounter some problems in the cutting process. QY Laser has sorted out some common problems in cutting for you to explain. Let's take a look.

What is the reason for the rapid pollution of protective glasses?

First of all, it is necessary to determine the type of pollutants. The pollutants usually include waste residue, oil stains, dust, water mist and mixtures.

1. Waste residue: mainly due to improper parameter setting, the cutting waste residue splashes back onto the lens. It can be solved by adjusting the process parameters of cutting or perforation, such as follow-up height, cutting air pressure, laser pulse parameters, etc.

2. Oil stains or dust: the auxiliary gas itself or the gas circulation pipeline is polluted. It can be controlled by adding a filter, oil or dust.

3. Water mist: generally caused by excessive temperature difference. The ambient temperature is too high, the cutting gas temperature is too low, and the protective mirror is formed by condensation in the ambient temperature. It can be solved by adjusting the temperature of the two to make them similar.

How to deal with the heating of the cutting nozzle for cutting carbon steel plates, and what causes it?

With the increase of laser power, in order to pursue speed and section brightness, thick plates have also begun to be cut with high-power vaporization, which needs to be matched with small nozzles.

Reasons for heating of cutting carbon steel:

1. The flow rate of cutting gas is small, and the copper nozzle cannot be fully cooled. High-pressure nitrogen can be used as auxiliary gas, and the cooling effect of high-pressure nitrogen is good.

2. No copper nozzle is used to cool the gas. Adapting the copper nozzle cooling gas can reduce the heat generation of the copper nozzle.

3. High focus cutting, the laser is easy to hit the small nozzle, which makes the nozzle overheat. The focus must be adjusted or the nozzle size increased without the nozzle getting hot.

4. When carbon steel is cut, an oxidation reaction occurs and a large amount of heat is generated. This situation cannot be avoided, and the distance between the nozzle and the material can be adjusted appropriately.
