How To Choose The Aperture Of The Laser Cutting Machine Nozzle?

1. Regarding whether the nozzle is a single layer or a double layer, a single layer laser nozzle is used for melting and cutting, that is, nitrogen is used as an auxiliary gas, and a single layer laser nozzle is used for cutting stainless steel and aluminum plates. Double-layer laser nozzles are generally used for oxidative cutting, that is, using oxygen as auxiliary gas, double-layer laser nozzles for cutting carbon steel. In addition, for thin plates below 3mm, the aperture of the selected nozzle should be Φ1mm, so that the cutting gap will be finer, if it is larger, it will be thicker, and the position of the cutting corner will not be smooth. For cutting thick plates above 3mm and below 10mm, the nozzle aperture of Φ1mm will be unstable. If the power is higher, the cutting time will be longer due to the required heat dissipation time. If the aperture is too small, although the heat dissipation is faster, it is still not stable. At this time, choose Φ1.5mm, and if the heat dissipation area is relatively large, the airflow will become slower, so it is more stable when cutting.

2. From which aspects does the quality of the nozzle look?

First: Look at the material, a good nozzle, the material must have high electrical conductivity and good thermal conductivity. Generally, a nozzle made of copper is better than a nozzle made of brass, which can ensure a good capacitance signal.

Second: Look at the processing accuracy: a good laser head nozzle must have a concentricity of 0.03mm, and a nozzle with a size of 1.0mm or less must have a concentricity of 0.02mm. The high-precision concentric nozzles can not only reduce the pre-debugging in the processing process, but also effectively prevent the high-energy laser from hitting the inner wall of the laser head, thereby avoiding damage to the laser head. When the center of the nozzle and the center of the laser are not on the axis, the impact on the cutting quality: 1) Affect the cutting section. When the cutting gas is sprayed, the gas volume will be uneven, which makes the cutting section more likely to have melting stains on one side and none on the other side. This phenomenon has little effect on the cutting of thin plates below 3mm. When cutting plates above 3mm, its effect is more serious, and sometimes it will not be able to cut. 2) Affect the quality of sharp corners. When cutting workpieces with sharp corners or small angles, local overmelting is likely to occur. When cutting thick plates, it may not be possible to cut. 3) Affect perforation, instability during perforation, time is not easy to control, penetration of thick plates will cause overmelting, and the penetration conditions are not easy to grasp, and the impact on perforation of thin plates is small.

Third: Look at the surface finish and anti-oxidation treatment: A smooth surface and good anti-oxidation treatment can effectively reduce the adhesion of melt during the cutting process and prolong the service life of the nozzle.
