How To Properly Maintain The Laser Cutting Machine?

Although we have high-quality after-sales service that can provide some basic guarantees, regular and comprehensive maintenance is the best way to truly extend the life of your laser cutting machine, thus truly achieving low investment and high returns. So how to properly maintain the laser cutting machine?

Cleaning components

In order to ensure that the laser is always in normal working condition, please check the components in the optical path (such as the laser lens) before starting after continuous operation for two weeks or when not in use for a period of time. If the above abnormal phenomenon occurs, it should be cleaned in time to ensure that the optical components will not be damaged under strong laser irradiation. (If the operating environment of the equipment is relatively clean, the above inspection can be extended to a month or more). The detailed method is as follows:

Change the circulating water and clean the chiller.

It is worth noting that in a high temperature or relatively humid environment, the laser should always pay attention to observe whether "condensation" is caused by the low water temperature on the cooling water circulation pipe or the laser concentration cavity. The "condensation" phenomenon will damage the end face of the YAG crystal, resulting in lower output power or even failure to emit light. Immediately stop using the laser cutter if "congealing" occurs. After the moisture on the surface of the concentrating cavity is naturally dried, please re-check the condition of the YAG optical surface to determine whether to clean the YAG rod. Before turning it on again, please check that everything is ok. Before starting, please pay attention to correctly adjust the lower limit set temperature of the high temperature controller.

Fan cleaning

When the fan in the machine is used for a long time, a large amount of solid dust will accumulate in the fan, which will make the fan make a lot of noise and is not conducive to exhaust and deodorization. Dust can also degrade the insulating properties of electrical components and cause electrical breakdown, which increases wear and tear on the motion system, reduces accuracy, and makes the light output of the optical system weak or even unable to emit light. When the fan suction is insufficient, the fan needs to be cleaned. The surface of the device can be wiped with a cloth, and the inside of the device can be rinsed with a long-bristle brush and a high-pressure air gun.

Lens cleaning

The protective mirror on the machine is easily stained with dust or other contaminants, which can affect the cutting accuracy and cause laser loss or lens damage. Usually, it is necessary to carefully wipe the protective mirror with absolute alcohol within about a week (depending on the frequency of use of the laser cutter).

while cleaning

1. The lens should be wiped gently and the surface coating should not be damaged;

2. The wiping process should be handled with care to prevent falling;

3. When installing the protective lens, make sure the concave side is facing down.

Rail cleaning

Guide rails and linear axes are one of the core components of the equipment. In order to ensure the high machining accuracy of the machine, the guide rails and linear axes are required to have high guiding accuracy and good motion stability. During the operation of the equipment, the processed parts will generate a large amount of corrosive dust and smoke, and these smoke and dust will be deposited on the surface of the guide rail and the linear axis for a long time, which will cause many adverse effects on the processing accuracy of the equipment, and This can cause corrosion pits to form on the linear shaft surface, which can shorten the life of the equipment. The machine guide rails should be cleaned every two weeks, and the machine power should be turned off before cleaning.

Tightening and lubrication of screws and couplings

After the motion system works for a period of time, the screws and couplings at the motion connection will be loose, which will affect the stability of the mechanical motion. During the operation of the machine, it is necessary to frequently observe whether there is abnormal noise or abnormal phenomenon in the transmission parts, and regularly tighten the screws one by one with tools. The first tightening should be about a month after using the device.

Since laser cutting machines are particularly sensitive to vibration, the working environment should be far away from places with vibration sources (such as punching machines, heavy objects, etc.), and anti-vibration pads can be installed to avoid impact on the environment. In addition to tightening the adjustment screws, some bearings (except oil-immersed bearings) of the laser cutting machine also need to be regularly lubricated. Please use a clean soft cloth to wipe the dirt on the bearing, use the needle to suck the oil into the needle, then use the needle to slowly fill the bearing, and then slowly rotate the bearing while filling the oil.

Thermal insulation and heat dissipation.

An increase in temperature reduces the insulating properties of the equipment and reduces the parameters of the components. Usually, it is stipulated that the working environment of the cutting machine should not exceed 40 °C, and the most suitable for 20~25 °C.

The light path needs to be checked before working

The optical path system of the laser cutting machine is focused together by the mirror and the lens or only by the lens. All mirrors and lenses are mechanically fixed and there is a possibility of offset, which usually does not occur when not in operation. Offset, the vibration will produce a slight offset during movement, so it needs to be checked regularly. Maintenance method: The user should check the coaxial optical nozzle before going to work every day to determine whether the optical path is normal. The optical port is coaxial once a day, and the internal optical path is once every six months.

Matters needing attention during routine maintenance:

1. The vacuuming device should be checked and cleaned regularly, and the fan duct should be cleaned, otherwise the dust will quickly contaminate the lens and laser tube, easily oxidize the mechanical and electronic components and cause poor contact;

2. The grid power needs to match the equipment itself;

3. Dust on the body, cutting head, sensor and other parts should be removed in time to keep the appearance of the machine clean;

4. Combustibles in the machine (such as gloves, rags, etc.) should be cleaned up in time to prevent fires during cutting;

5. The iron slag on the hopper scrap car should be cleaned up in time to ensure that the chips can fall down smoothly;

6. Before combing the machine every day, please check carefully whether the working gas pressure is normal;

7. The pressure reducing valve works normally to avoid insufficient air pressure and affect the quality of the cutting section;

8. Before use, please check the connection of each gas pipe of the cutting head to determine whether the cooling water leaks to ensure the normal supply of gas and cooling water;

9. During the debugging process, ferrous metal with good absorption performance should be placed on the optical path of the laser output as a beam terminator to prevent fire;

Only by correctly grasping these five tips to maintain the laser cutting machine can you have a longer life, so that the low cost and high return can be realized.
