These three models are laser cutting equipment specially used for cutting and processing metal materials. So, what is the difference between fiber laser cutting machine and YAG laser cutting machine?

1. The two definitions are different

Fiber laser cutting machine is a laser cutting machine with fiber laser generator as the light source. Fiber laser is a new type of fiber laser newly developed in the world. It can output a laser beam with high energy density and focus on the surface of the workpiece, so that the area irradiated by the ultra-fine focal spot on the workpiece melts and vaporizes instantly. The system moves the spot irradiation position to realize automatic cutting.

The YAG laser cutting machine uses a focused high-power density laser beam to irradiate the workpiece to quickly melt, vaporize, ablate or reach the ignition point of the irradiated material. At the same time, it uses high-speed airflow to coaxial with the beam to realize the workpiece cutting. Laser cutting is one of the thermal cutting methods.

2. The laser and its life are different

The fiber laser cutting machine adopts a fiber laser generator and can be used for 100,000 hours. The laser of YAG laser cutting machine adopts high-quality YAG crystal and imported metal condensing cavity. The laser can be used for more than 10,000 hours.

3. Different application fields

Fiber laser cutting machines are widely used in machinery, sheet metal, electronic circuits, textiles and clothing, leather shoes and bags, auto parts, hardware tools, medical equipment, digital products, instruments, gold and silver jewelry, craft gifts, etc.

YAG laser cutting machine is suitable for all kinds of metal materials (including rare metals), electroplating materials, coating materials, spraying materials, plastic rubber, resin, ceramic marking and thin plate cutting.

4. The price and usage cost are different

The purchase price of fiber laser cutting machine is relatively high, but it hardly needs maintenance in the later period. The fiber laser cutting machine has no laser working gas, fiber transmission, and no reflective lens, which can save a lot of maintenance costs.

YAG laser cutting machine is cheap to buy, low in use cost and easy to maintain.

5. Cutting ability and processing efficiency are different

The fiber laser cutting machine can cut metal materials such as stainless steel plates within 12MM, and its speed is 4-5 times that of the YAG laser cutting machine. YAG laser cutting machine can only cut metal materials below 8mm. The output power of current products is mostly below 800W. Due to the small output energy, it is mainly used for punching thin plates.

In addition, the photoelectric conversion efficiency of fiber laser cutting machine is about 10 times that of YAG. At present, the photoelectric conversion efficiency of the cutting machine can reach about 30%, which is very energy-saving and environmentally friendly.
